What do you do after blogging the Bible for 2 and a half years and finishing the Bible for the first time? Start a new blog, of course! But seriously, it has been a great journey with my first blog myBibleJournal, but there have been a couple reasons for moving on to a new site.
First of all is technical. A lot has changed in blogging and computers in the last two years, so I sort of wanted to start with a clean slate. While I have been able to upgrade the software, the structure of the categories and tags have changed and I am looking forward to starting over with that. Also, I am looking forward to incorporating other social elements that have become popular recently including Facebook, Twitter and more. I believe the new theme for the site lends itself better to this without a complete overhaul.
But more than anything, I wanted to change the tone of the blog to attempt to get as many people as I can to read the Bible in 2009. I don’t mean reading the whole thing or having to start on January 1, but at least beginning the habit of reading the Bible and finding out God has to say to us. Much of the tone of the writing will be geared toward this.
So whether you have ended up here via search, Facebook, twitter or good old fashion face to face meeting, thanks for stopping by and it is my prayer that you might dive into God’s Word this year and see what it has to say. Thanks and good luck in everything that you do in 2009.
WHAT TO DO NOW?
